Learning Environment

Outwood Academy Bishopsgarth has a good suite of facilities and equipment for students to use contained within the main building and one separate smaller building. Students also have their own student services desk within the main building.

There are specialist facilities for subjects including:
science laboratories;
food practical kitchen, including 12 cookers;
textiles room, including sewing machines and overlockers;
drama studio and stage;
art studio with kiln;
design and technology area;
designated one to one tutor rooms;
learning resource centre.

Each classroom has its own interactive whiteboard and there are many IT rooms available across the academy. In total, there are computers, laptops and numerous ipads for staff and students to access the curriculum.

Our Inclusion area is a further specialist area which supports our students with Special Educational Needs. This area includes two specific teaching rooms with access to computers and laptops, physiotherapy rooms and a hydrotherapy pool.
